While out detecting for only the third time with my new CTX 3030, in a colonial location I have detected many times with my previous machine..... I scored big-time! It rang up very clearly at 7". After digging a wide hole and locating the target I saw a silver glimmer and got really excited! I picked up in my hand, a completely encapsulated coin with only the shiny edges exposed. I knew from the location and the items previously found at the location it was going to be old. So 1st thing, I made sure not to rub it at all. I poured some water from my water bottle over the coin in my hand to reveal this beautiful 1773 Spanish One Real.
Just ten minutes later I dug a King George I Half Cent! AMAZING!!
