I recently got my mom hooked on Metal detecting. So my mom, my 6 year old daughter and I decided to hit a local Parkway in town. We started near a picnic area and it was not long before we started hitting coins regularly.
My daughter has a special modified detector that is perfect for her height. She found a spot where she pulled 29 clad pennies. She was over the moon yelling “Daddy I found another one!!” I decided to hunt over near an old spring house near the edge of the path. I was swinging a few minutes when I got an unusual tone that sounded off. I started to Dig, first I hit an ornamental decoration that looked like a copper leaf. It was exciting I found something different. I scanned my hole again and pulled a 12-12 signal that was solid and not to deep . I popped the plug deeper. I flipped the plug and there is was my first gold ring. I was smiles ear to ear till I pulled it out and discovered it was a Diamond ring. I nearly jumped up yelling. My daughter came running over and asked me what I found. When I showed it to her, her eyes lit up and she asked, “Can I have it? I agreed after I took pictures. The hunt continued with my mom finding a sliver Half. Way to go MOM!
It was getting dark and time to leave. So one more target in the way to the car. Hit a solid 00-27 in the middle of a small field. I popped the plug to something glinting in the dark. It was a silver ring as big as my knuckle. I could not believe it 2 rings in one day.
The total for the day 3.20 in clad for me and 2 rings. Mom 4.26 in clad and a silver half, and my daughter got 2.31 in clad. One happy little girl, would not trade that for anything.
