Detecting on an Old Pecan Tree Grove

27 Feb 2012

I decide to go out detecting on this beautiful day. My buddy HEBGB and I ended up at a old pecan tree grove. It was used as a church picnic area from 1860 till about 1940's. I have dug 2 Barber Quarters (1892 & 1895) from this location last year.

We were there for about 2 hours when I walked to the far end of the grove where he was detecting. I asked HEBGB what he had found so far in that area and was told he had dug 2 Wheaties from the 1910's. I was walking towards him when I got a great tone. At about 7 inches I pulled out a great looking 1857-O Seated Quarter. Thanks Minelab.
