Woke up really early at hit my colonial spot where I found my 1773 1/2 Real and 1720 KG at the end of March/2015. It had rained all evening and this morning, so it was basically a muddy mess! I even had to pull some Survivor man stuff and make a shelter from the rain at one point. lol I started in the closest corn field to where the old house site sat. It was my first pass along the path beside the corn rows, and BAM! In came a nice tone on the CTX, 1772 Spanish 1/2 Reale!!!! The Signal was the same as my last Reale, which was 11:36.. They are really thin though so not surprising. Must say it was a pleasant surprise and an excellent way to start the my Sunday hunt!
Couple interesting things about the Reale, by how worn the coin is I would say it was definitely in circulation for a while. Then someone made it into a cufflink (notice where the shank was attached). And then someone looks to have put a small hole in it, maybe wore it around there neck or wrist. People didn't waste anything those days. Thank you Minelab for making the Best Treasure Detector in the World!
